After an amazing 17th years of dedicated service to the Memorial Choirs, George Upthall is retiring!

19th Annual Pops in the Park Concert
The Memorial Choirs present their 19th Annual Pops in the Park Concert on Wednesday, May 21 at 7PM at Owen Park. This year's theme is "Irving Berlin: a Century of Song" which will include over two dozen songs by one of America's greatest songwriters and is the final concert of their 2007-2008 season. The concert will include performances by all 8 Memorial Choirs including the 3 Show choirs and Madrigal/Vocal Jazz as well as spotlight solo performances by some of the stars of the Memorial Choirs. The concert is preceded by a tailgate party starting at 5:30 with brats, chips and pop for sale. Pie and ice cream will be available throughout the evening. The event is sponsored by the Memorial Choir Boosters.
The choirs are directed by Jane Schutt and George Utphall. This will be George's last concert with the choirs as he wraps up a 33-year career in vocal music. The concert is free and open to the public. Rain location is the Memorial Auditorium.
